Getting started

Installation Instructions

Choose your galaxy below. You need Windows 10 or 11, enough free storage for the extracted client, and a legal copy of Star Wars Galaxies.

Core3 Pre-CU

  1. Download Returns.zip above and extract it fully into its own Core3 folder—do not run it from inside the ZIP.
  2. Download the shared SWGReturns Launcher, extract its ZIP, and run the installer.
  3. Open the launcher and choose Core3 / Pre-CU from the server dropdown.
  4. Press Install Folder and select the Core3 folder you extracted in step 1.
  5. Let the launcher scan and update the client. When it finishes, open the Core3 folder and run SWGEmu_Setup.exe.
  6. Set Game Resolution to match your PC or laptop display, adjust any graphics or sound options, press OK, then return to the launcher and press Launch.

NGE / JTL

  1. Download nge.zip above and extract it fully into its own NGE folder, such as C:\Games\SWGTalon-NGE.
  2. Download and install the same shared SWGReturns Launcher shown above.
  3. Open the launcher and choose SWG Talon NGE from the server dropdown.
  4. Press Install Folder and select the NGE folder you extracted in step 1.
  5. Let the launcher scan and update the client. When it finishes, open the NGE folder and run SwgClientSetup_r.exe.
  6. Set Game Resolution to match your PC or laptop display, adjust any graphics or sound options, press OK, then return to the launcher and press Launch.
Having trouble? Keep the game outside protected folders where possible, add the chosen game folder to your antivirus exceptions if files are quarantined, and never mix Core3 and NGE files in the same folder. You can rerun the appropriate setup EXE whenever you need to change resolution, windowed mode, graphics, or sound. For help, use the contact page or community Discord.
